Our Story

Why did we start Equinox?

We started Equinox Academy to finally put all the knowledge and ideas we learned in the classroom to use. Our interest in business combined with the demand for tutoring in an ever increasingly competitive academic environment led to the birth of Equinox Academy.


We are able to lift up both our peers and the younger generation to attain the ultimate goal of a better world and society. We want every person who comes through Equinox to leave not only a better student, but a better version of themselves.

Common Questions

Classes

What do I need to bring to class? +
Any available class content (worksheets, online assignments, etc.), a laptop or any tech as needed, and pencil & paper.
Where are classes located? +
Typically at Denmark Library — 530 Fowler Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30004. Location can change upon special request.
How long is each class? +
Classes are 1 hour, but can be flexible by request. Prices will vary based on requested duration.
What grade levels do you teach? +
We teach from Middle School and up.
Is tutoring virtual or in-person? +
Tutoring is primarily in-person. Virtual is available by special request if there are conflicts or you're too far from the tutoring site.
Can I bring a friend to sessions? +
1-on-1 is our focus, but if you'd like to bring a friend who has also booked classes, that is allowed. Just alert tutors beforehand.
How are tutors assigned? +
We assign tutors based on class expertise and availability, unless any special requests were made.
Can I book sessions for different classes? +
Yes — you can book different sessions for different classes, or dedicate specific time within a session to multiple subjects.

Payment

When do I pay? +
PayPal: right after booking on Calendly. Cash: at the site of tutoring. We will check that you've paid before starting the lesson.
Do packages require upfront payment? +
Yes — multiple class packages require full payment up front.
When can I use the referral discount? +
You can use the 10% off when buying your next package. You will not be refunded for your current package.

Miscellaneous

How much are parents involved? +
Parents are preferred not to be in lessons, but we're available to chat before and after sessions and can give academic progress updates. Students are expected to take initiative to communicate what is needed.
